Recently at college my sketchbooks have become less personal, showing nothing of myself in them. Just the works I'd been set to do. So my Fine Art Tutor recommended a book from the library, the diaries of Dan Eldon.
I took it out and I loved it.
...I still have it, bound to be a fee now, I'm sure it was due back a week ago...
Anyway
It's inspired me enough to get back into making my sketchbooks about myself again, as well as the work I have to do in them.
So, having thought I was going to London for the galleries, which I'm now not due to financial difficulties, I got myself a new sketchbook.
A small sqaure paged thing. Stury and handsome.
And since I'm a collector of the everyday things - bus tickets, receipts, all sorts of things - they are all going into my sketchbook.
Making it a half diary / half sketchbook.
Hopefully this will work for the best and give my books the personality they were lacking.
